Pittsburgh, PA (January 8, 2020) – The Pittsburgh Knights have updated their Rocket League lineup with the addition of Austin “AyyJayy” Aebi. AyyJayy will be joining teammates Slater “Retals” Thomas, and Jirair “Gyro” Papazian for the Rocket League Championship Series, Season 9.
AyyJayy is no newcomer to the Rocket League scene having played three seasons in RLCS, two of which were under the Rogue banner. Last year he placed in the top four at the season 7 RLCS world finals.
To accommodate this new addition, the Knights will be moving Nicholas “Mist” Costello to the inactive roster.
“With the addition of AyyJayy we look forward to improving from our breakout performance last season”, says Knights’ esports consultant Garett Bambrough. “AyyJayy has a more aggressive playstyle which is a great fit for our team. We will hit hard and fast and will continue to be one of the best teams to watch”.
Team coach Julian “Moopy” Amador, says of Mist, “I have no doubt in my mind that Mist will have a long and satisfying career no matter where he ends up for Season 9”.
The Knights recently finished their first RLCS season, coming in top 6 at the world finals this past December. Check out the Knights when Season 9 of the Rocket League Championship Series begins on February 1st.
